Create Lemon Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture, CEO: Kawakazu Oba) completed the third building in the 'Uniterace' student apartment series (fourth building in total, including those for faculty and staff) in Funagata Town, Mogami District, Yamagata Prefecture in March 2026.

This project is being advanced in cooperation between the town and the company, based on the 'Cooperation Agreement on the Operation of Apartments for Tohoku Agricultural and Forestry Professional University Students, etc.' signed with Funagata Town. In the town, which faces severe population decline and youth outflow, the aim is to create a regional revitalization model of the 'area development type' where young people and local residents naturally interact, by developing an environment where young people want to 'live' by supplying quality housing that matches modern lifestyles, and by collaborating with the adjacent community exchange facility 'Funapon' and the existing 'Uniterace' series.

Adjacent to the left is 'Uniterace III' (white), completed last year, and further beyond is the community exchange hub 'Funapon'. A townscape integrating housing and interaction has been formed.

Background: Why are 'Student Apartments' Necessary in a Town of 5,000 People?

Funagata Town in Mogami District, Yamagata Prefecture, while blessed with rich nature, faces the challenges of severe population decline and youth outflow. Despite the presence of educational institutions and workplaces within the town, there was a shortage of quality rental housing that matched modern lifestyles and would make young people want to 'live' there.

Create Lemon embarked on apartment development in Funagata Town with the belief that 'Housing is regional infrastructure.' As they built one and two buildings, the number of students and faculty members increased, and new vitality began to emerge in the town. The success of completing the fourth building is a result of the reverse thinking that 'Young people can choose this town because there is a place to live.'
