Craif Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Ryuichi Onose; hereinafter "Craif"), a biotech AI startup, announces the renewal of its corporate logo mark. With steady progress in social implementation in Japan, Craif has now stepped into the "phase to challenge the world." In alignment with this milestone, the logo used since its founding has evolved into a form ready to compete globally. To realize a society from Japan where people worldwide can live healthily, we will strongly accelerate our global business development alongside the new logo.
■ Background of Logo Renewal
Since its founding in 2018, after a research and development period of about four years, Craif has developed early cancer detection technology that analyzes urinary microRNA using AI. Currently, we have steadily advanced social implementation in Japan, including introduction to over 2,400 medical institutions domestically, adoption in over 5,000 drugstores, and public funding implementation by local governments.
And now, we are fully launching our global expansion, including the establishment of our own lab in San Diego, USA, the CEO's relocation to the US, and the hiring of a local CFO. Upon entering this major milestone of the "phase to challenge the world," the logo mark has also evolved into a form that embodies this mission.
What is required is the "presence" of a brand that can build trust on the global stage. From the research and development phase of the founding period to the stage of transforming global healthcare. Craif expresses its determination to compete globally alongside its new logo.
■ Meaning Behind the New Logo Mark
Logotype
The renewed "Craif" lettering is a completely original design. When a brand originating from Japan expands overseas, even the slightest unnaturalness in the lettering can become noise affecting trust in the brand. To enable the US team to challenge confidently on the ground, we pursued a shape that feels natural from a global perspective, particularly in the US market.
Symbol Mark
The company name Craif is a combination of "Crane," a symbol of longevity, and "Life." This name embodies our desire, as we challenge the world from Japan, to engage in technological development and social implementation toward the "realization of a society where people live out their natural lifespans," and to contribute to realizing an aging society that serves as a model for the world. While keeping the origami crane motif of the symbol mark and the vision it holds, we updated it to a refined design that conveys "crane" more intuitively.
Gradation
We adopted a gradation in the corporate logo. A gradation smoothly connects two colors. Through color, we express Craif's stance as an entity that bridges various things: "people and health," "technology and passion," and "current healthcare and future healthcare."
■ Comment from Craif Creative Director Ikuko Tokumo
We want to evolve the brand along with the evolution of the business. That was the starting line for the logo renewal. Anticipating global expansion, we thoroughly pursued the design, aiming to be a brand that the US team can be proud of on the ground and to clearly embody our Vision. This renewal is not the goal, but a passing point. Craif will continue to change and evolve as the business grows.

◼️ About "miSignal Scan"
"miSignal Scan" is a test that extracts microRNA in urine and analyzes it with AI to evaluate the risk of 10 types of cancer*, including pancreatic cancer, from Stage 1, by cancer type. The test can be performed without physical burden simply by collecting urine.

"miSignal Scan" is not a medical device. It determines risk by statistically calculating the analyzed information, and it does not replace a "diagnosis" of whether or not one has cancer as a medical practice. Even if determined to be low risk, it does not mean there is no cancer or that one will not get cancer in the future.
* Ovarian cancer and breast cancer are for women only, and prostate cancer is for men only.
■ About Craif
Craif is a biotech AI startup founded in 2018 tackling early cancer detection. It fuses its proprietary analysis technology platform "NANO IP®︎ (NANO Intelligence Platform)," which highly accurately detects diverse biomarkers such as DNA and microRNA from body fluids like urine, with AI technology.
