20 Years Since the First Session, Approximately 5,000 People Have Attended! — Holding the "Marriage Consulting Business Compliance Basic Training" to Learn Essential Compliance for Marriage Consulting Agencies in 2 Hours

While no specific qualifications are required to open a marriage consulting business, after opening, it is necessary to operate while complying with multiple laws, including the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions, the Consumer Contract Act, the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, and the Act Against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations.

This training program offers content that allows participants to efficiently acquire essential compliance knowledge for operating a marriage consulting agency in two hours.

This training is hosted by the NPO Japan Life Design Counselors Association (JLCA), which issues the "Maruteki Mark," a certification that signifies safe and secure marriage consulting agencies. Since its inception in 2007, approximately 5,000 people have attended the training to date.

Currently, the training is held online via Zoom, and it is attended by a wide range of participants, including marriage consulting agency operators from across the country, those considering opening a business, and individuals interested in the marriage consulting industry.

④ About the NPO Japan Life Design Counselors Association (JLCA)

The NPO Japan Life Design Counselors Association (hereinafter referred to as JLCA) was established in January 2007.

At the time of its establishment, the number of consultations about marriage introduction services, or so-called marriage consulting agencies, received by the National Consumer Affairs Center was approximately 3,000, and there was significant concern about the decline in industry trust. Amidst this situation, JLCA began issuing "Maruteki Mark" certifications in December 2008, based on the "Guidelines for the Marriage Introduction Service Industry Certification System," as a third-party certification body. The number of certified businesses, which was initially 176, has grown to approximately 600 as of August 2025.

JLCA is committed to its social mission of contributing to the further improvement of trust in the marriage introduction service industry and ensuring safe and secure marriage-seeking activities for consumers through its "Maruteki Mark" certification business and training programs for marriage consulting agencies.
