In autumn 2025, Zitong Wang's name became instantly known to piano fans worldwide after she won 3rd prize at the Chopin International Piano Competition. She had gradually been making a name for herself, including winning 6th prize at the challenging Busoni International Competition (Italy, 2023), but her extraordinary performance in Warsaw last year deeply impressed many piano enthusiasts, gaining her an unprecedented number of fans internationally. Many from Japan who watched and supported her on YouTube will likely agree. We have heard numerous voices saying they were captivated by her performance. In addition to the 3rd prize, she also received the Sonata Prize, one of the special awards. The beauty of her 'Funeral' Sonata in the third stage of the preliminaries, especially the final movement, was unparalleled, and the result was well-deserved. Furthermore, the fact that she wore a 'white jacket' from the first to the last stage also became a topic of conversation. Her fresh, sharp, and vibrant appearance, along with her performance, left a strong impression on the audience. In January this year, she performed alongside other laureates in the Chopin International Competition Laureates Gala Concert Tour held across Japan, gaining even more fans. She gained significant attention after winning 3rd prize and a bronze medal at the 19th Chopin International Piano Competition (2025), and also receiving the 'Krystian Zimerman Prize' for the best performance of a sonata. She has performed in numerous prestigious halls, including the Berlin Philharmonic, Munich Prinzregententheater, Warsaw Philharmonic, Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, Seoul Arts Center, Beijing National Centre for the Performing Arts, Polish Baltic Philharmonic Hall in Gdańsk, and Shanghai Symphony Hall, receiving enthusiastic receptions at all. She has collaborated with many renowned orchestras, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Galicia Symphony Orchestra, Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, and Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra.
