Sharp Commercializes Smartphone 'AQUOS R11'

Sharp has commercialized the high-end smartphone model 'AQUOS R11.' In addition to a new feature that uses AI to automatically adjust zoom magnification based on the subject, it also introduces a function that creates a pleasant atmosphere through light and sound. This enhances convenience during photography and expands the ways users can enjoy their smartphones in daily life. Sales will begin sequentially in Japan and Taiwan from July 9 this year (※1).

The camera has been supervised by Leica Camera AG (headquartered in Wetzlar, Germany). It features a high-resolution triple camera system with a 50.3MP standard lens, a 50.3MP wide-angle lens, and a 38.5MP telephoto lens, enabling users to capture everything from everyday snapshots to expansive landscapes and distant subjects. AI-powered camera functions have also evolved. The newly introduced 'Smart Fit Zoom' allows users to simply tap a dedicated icon, prompting the AI to automatically adjust the zoom magnification according to the subject, enabling well-balanced compositions. Additionally, the 'Privacy Safe' function (※2) automatically detects text on signs and billboards during shooting and masks it (※3), supporting privacy protection when posting on social media. By combining ease of use with natural-looking results tailored to the subject, it delivers a photography experience that embodies the concept of 'simple, yet astonishing.'

The new 'Akarium' feature uses a light positioned at the center of the camera ring on the back of the device to gently convey notifications and incoming calls. The light features eight colors inspired by natural hues. Furthermore, healing sounds recorded from nature are synchronized with lighting effects themed on campfires and babbling streams, creating a soothing atmosphere before bedtime or during breaks (※2).

The display adopts a high-brightness Pro IGZO OLED with a peak brightness of 3,600 nits. The 'Smart Outdoor View' function automatically brightens shadow areas according to ambient light, making dark parts of videos clearly visible even under strong sunlight or in dim outdoor environments. The device is powered by the 'Snapdragon(R) 8s Gen 4 Mobile Platform,' delivering high processing performance and smooth operation. Additionally, the 5,100mAh high-capacity battery and newly designed heat-dissipating materials allow users to enjoy video playback and gaming for extended periods with stable performance.
