Sharp will exhibit at "The 2nd Railway Technology Exhibition Osaka 2026," to be held at Intex Osaka (Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) from Wednesday, May 27th to Friday, May 29th this year. We will showcase solutions that utilize image analysis technology, AI technology, and other innovations to support the safe operation of railway vehicles and improve the efficiency of station operations. ■ Main Exhibits 1. Vehicle Inspection Solution Utilizing Image Analysis Technology This solution streamlines the inspection tasks essential for the safe operation of railway vehicles through Sharp's unique image analysis technology. We will introduce systems for inspecting the condition of underfloor equipment of vehicles and measuring the wear of pantograph contact strips. This contributes to solving challenges such as labor shortages in railway maintenance and management operations. Vehicle Inspection Solution (Image) 2. RFID (*1) Equipment System This system utilizes RFID technology to grasp the position and status of trains from electronic tags attached to vehicles and stations. It can be used in various situations, such as assisting the opening and closing of platform doors, managing entry and exit to depots, and even managing vehicle positions (in-line) within depots. RFID Equipment 3. AI Avatar Station Staff [Reference Exhibit] We will introduce an AI avatar-based support solution for stations, where an AI avatar responds to passenger inquiries and provides guidance on station premises and surrounding facilities. It can easily learn manuals, FAQs, and various guidance materials, and can provide multilingual guidance in English, Japanese, and other languages. This contributes to improving the efficiency and labor-saving of station staff operations, as well as supporting smooth communication with visitors, including inbound tourists. AI Avatar Station Staff (Image) 4. "Omject" [Reference Exhibit] This is Sharp's unique concept utilizing projection technology. By projecting guidance and work instructions onto various objects and locations, it can be used for crowd control and action support. At the booth, we will conduct a demonstration of projecting guidance onto vehicles and platforms. We propose use cases that contribute to suppressing congestion within station premises and facilitating rapid evacuation guidance during disasters. Omject (Image) *1 RFID is an automatic identification technology that uses radio frequency to non-contact read and write information from electronic tags. ■ Exhibition Location: Intex Osaka Hall 4 (4B-12) "The 2nd Railway Technology Exhibition Osaka 2026" Website https://www.mtij.jp/osaka/ For over 110 years, Sharp has developed many world-first and industry-first innovative products and technologies, primarily in electronics.
