ZOZO Opens New Logistics Base "ZOZOBASE Narashino 3" Aiming for Approximately 50% Labor Saving

ZOZO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture; President and CEO: Kotaro Sawada), which operates the fashion e-commerce "ZOZOTOWN," will open a new logistics base, "ZOZOBASE Narashino 3," aiming to reduce labor by approximately 50%. Partial operations are scheduled to commence in August 2027, with full-scale operations planned for October 2028.

"ZOZOBASE Narashino 3" is a facility that will relocate, renew, and rebuild the functions of "ZOZOBASE Narashino 1," which has been in operation for approximately 13 years. Anticipating future growth in merchandise handling volume and against the backdrop of labor shortages due to population decline, the company aims to achieve approximately 50% labor saving (Note 1) by investing in further automation equipment and introducing new operations. Furthermore, the electricity used at this base will be 100% effectively renewable energy, similar to other bases (Note 2).

Notably, at "ZOZOBASE Tsukuba 3" (Note 3), where the company previously introduced automation equipment, a 30% labor saving has been achieved. This new base aims for even greater efficiency, further advancing logistics operations.

ZOZO will continue to strive for the realization of its corporate philosophy, "Making the world a cooler place, bringing smiles to the world," through the evolution of its logistics bases, which support the foundation of its business.

(Note 1) With the opening of "ZOZOBASE Narashino 3," the functions of "ZOZOBASE Narashino 1" will be transferred to this new base, and the functions of "ZOZOBASE Narashino 2" will be transferred to "ZOZOBASE Narashino 1." Consequently, "ZOZOBASE Narashino 2" will withdraw at the end of its contract in March 2028. No significant changes in the number of logistics bases are anticipated due to this reorganization at this time.
