Timee Co., Ltd. (Location: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Ryo Ogawa), which provides the part-time job service "Timee," has signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Fujikawa Town, Yamanashi Prefecture (Mayor: Toshiki Mochizuki, hereinafter referred to as "Fujikawa Town"), Yamanashi Mirai Agricultural Cooperative (Representative Director and President: Tameni Hagiwara), and Fujikawa Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman: Yoshio Nakazawa).
Fujikawa Town, Yamanashi Prefecture, is a town that attracts approximately 630,000 visitors annually (number of tourist visitors) by leveraging its tourism resources, including its roadside station and the cherry blossom festival at Oohoshi Park, selected as one of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots in Japan." The town is also actively promoting initiatives to become "No. 1 in towns that are easy to raise children," by providing economic support and fostering a rich environment for child-rearing.
However, on the other hand, the town is facing issues such as a declining population and an aging society, leading to a shortage of people to support its industries. Comparing Showa 60 (1985) and Reiwa 2 (2020), the number of workers in the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries has been on a downward trend, and the working-age population (15-64 years old) has also continued to decrease. Furthermore, while the town is known for its specialty products such as yuzu and Western pears, the aging of agricultural workers and the lack of successors are becoming serious issues in the town's agriculture, which is centered on fruit cultivation. Against this backdrop, our company, Fujikawa Town, Yamanashi Mirai Agricultural Cooperative, and Fujikawa Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry will collaborate to support employment for child-rearing households utilizing spare time, and to promote the revival of local industries and regional revitalization. By leveraging the knowledge and know-how we have cultivated in the utilization of spot work, we will support local businesses in securing human resources and promote diverse working styles for people of all ages living in the town, including child-rearing households. Together with Fujikawa Town, Yamanashi Mirai Agricultural Cooperative, and Fujikawa Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we will aim to solve Fujikawa Town's regional issues.
