TENTIAL Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yutaro Nakanishi; hereinafter "TENTIAL"), which operates the conditioning brand "TENTIAL," aims to realize a society that actively promotes health. The company will launch its kids' sleep series, the "Kids Dry Short Set" and "BAKUNE Kids Summer Duvet," on June 16, 2026 (Tuesday), targeting the sleep needs of children in their growth phase.
TENTIAL's mission is to "create a health-forward society and unlock human potential." The company strives to build a society where everyone can challenge themselves and reach their full potential. While possessing ability is important, TENTIAL believes that being in optimal condition is equally crucial. However, maintaining good condition is still often seen as exceptional. Therefore, TENTIAL reimagines everyday life from a conditioning perspective, using scientifically backed R&D to make optimal condition a "daily norm."
In Japan, children's extracurricular activities and tutoring take priority, often at the expense of sleep—the most frequently sacrificed element. Japanese children's sleep duration is among the shortest globally. According to a survey by the Japan Sports Agency of public and private elementary school fifth graders, over 60% of both boys and girls sleep less than the 9–12 hours recommended by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's "Sleep Guidelines for Health 2023"※.
Sleep during growth periods differs from adult sleep. While adults focus on utilizing existing abilities, children's sleep directly impacts their future development. Insufficient sleep may prevent children from reaching their full growth potential. Through sleep research and expert dialogues, TENTIAL has emphasized the importance of early investment in sleep specifically during developmental years.
TENTIAL has also received numerous customer testimonials, such as "My child wants to wear the same pajamas as me" and "The duvet felt so good, my child took it from me." When adults create a comfortable sleep environment, children naturally develop a desire to experience it too. Realizing a sleep environment that both parents and children desire can unlock children's rich potential—this belief led to the development of the new kids' series.

TENTIAL's Initiatives in Children's Sleep Education
TENTIAL views children's sleep challenges not as a "family-only issue" but as a theme society must collectively address. Since March 2025, TENTIAL has had a comprehensive partnership with Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and this year began delivering sleep conditioning classes to elementary and junior high school students. Through sleep quizzes, sleep diaries, and personal worksheets, the program empowers children to choose actions they can start today. Beyond delivering products, TENTIAL is committed to education that conveys the importance of sleep, supporting children's healthy growth through this dual approach.
TENTIAL believes children's sleep challenges should be addressed collectively by society. Beyond product delivery, the company aims to expand "health-building from sleep" in collaboration with local communities, through education and awareness initiatives including partnerships with local governments, ultimately realizing a health-forward society.
On Children's Sleep Challenges and Sleep Environment (Comment by Yuto Ueda, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health, Juntendo University)
In my research and school-based initiatives, I emphasize that when considering children's sleep, the goal should not simply be "putting them to bed." What matters most is enabling children to enjoy and thrive during their daytime hours through quality sleep. Good sleep is built not just before bedtime, but through daily routines from morning to night. Factors such as wake-up time, daytime activities, play, exercise, and digital device usage all influence nighttime sleep.
Meanwhile, children's sleep issues can be invisible to surrounding adults. Children often cannot clearly express feelings like "I'm sleepy" or "I'm tired," and sleep deprivation or poor sleep quality may manifest as difficulty concentrating, irritability, or trouble waking up in the morning. Additionally, persistent snoring may not indicate deep sleep but could signal obstructed breathing during sleep. Adults around children should develop awareness to recognize these signs.
I have used the Psychomotor Vigilance Test (PVT) in school settings to visualize how sleep deprivation and drowsiness affect daytime attention. In addition to helping children and adults recognize sleep issues, it's crucial for adults to create a safe and comfortable sleep environment for children. Experiences where bedtime feels "pleasant" and "secure" can inspire children to view sleep positively. I believe pajamas and bedding are integral parts of creating such an environment.

Creating a Summer Sleep Environment for Children from Both Bedding and Apparel Perspectives
The newly launched kids' sleep series includes two products: the pajama "Kids Dry Short Set" and the bedding "BAKUNE Kids Summer Duv en." Unlike adults, children cannot easily express discomfort from heat or sweating, nor can they adjust their environment independently. Therefore, it is meaningful for adults to create a comfortable environment and provide pleasant sleepwear. The new kids' series was born from the philosophy of creating genuine comfort that makes children truly want to sleep. TENTIAL's kids' sleep series aims to comprehensively improve children's summer sleep environment from both bedding and apparel perspectives.
