Strap and Zero-Drop Types Debut from TENTIAL's Recovery Sandals Optimized for Japanese Feet

TENTIAL Inc. (Location: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yutaro Nakanishi; hereinafter 'TENTIAL'), which operates the conditioning brand 'TENTIAL' with the aim of creating a health-conscious society, will sequentially release new models of its recovery sandals optimized for Japanese feet using data from approximately 400,000 foot scans. The new models are the 'Recovery Sandal Pro Strap Men's / Women's' (Men's available from Thursday, May 14; Women's from Monday, May 25) and the 'Recovery Sandal Zero-Drop Fit Slide' (available from Wednesday, May 20).

TENTIAL believes that feet are the foundation that supports the body, and that any impairment to their function can affect posture and walking, as part of its support for 24/7 conditioning*1.

Since its launch in 2021, the 'Recovery Sandal' series has expanded its lineup while making improvements based on customer feedback, with cumulative sales exceeding 220,000 pairs*2. The recovery sandal market is dominated by products from overseas brands, which are often designed based on Western foot shapes and do not necessarily fit Japanese feet. To solve this problem, TENTIAL spent about three years developing a proprietary footbed design using foot scan data from approximately 400,000 Japanese individuals and a dual-layer EVA structure, leading to a major renewal in the Fall/Winter 2025 season. Furthermore, since February 2026, the company has been selling the 'Recovery Sandal Pro' series, which features this unique footbed and a carefully crafted dual-layer EVA.

Moreover, a survey*3 conducted among 118 top athletes supported by TENTIAL, who were provided with the 'Recovery Sandal Pro Slide' and 'Recovery Sandal Slide' for their daily conditioning, showed an overall satisfaction rate of 94% and a 96% willingness to recommend to friends and family. Specifically, they praised the high cushioning and fit, with comments such as 'The cushioning is great, and my feet don't feel strained when wearing them,' and 'They fit my feet perfectly, so I don't get that heel-lift feeling typical of slippers, making them very easy to walk in.'

The 'Recovery Sandal Pro Strap Men's/Women's' launching this time is a strap model that responds to customer requests for 'better sandal security and fit.' With a unique footbed design based on data from approximately 400,000 foot scans and an adjustable strap, it achieves both a great fit for various foot shapes and stability during walking.

The 'Recovery Sandal Zero-Drop Fit Slide' is a new approach model that guides the foot to its natural landing position by adopting a zero-drop design with a 0mm height difference from toe to heel. With an 18mm thick outsole, it features appropriate cushioning while utilizing the sensation of the entire sole. In-house functional tests confirmed about 3.8 times the cushioning compared to existing barefoot-style sandals. Walking motion tests also confirmed a comfortable foot feel and an effect of suppressing lateral foot movement. With straps that secure at the forefoot and instep, fine adjustments can be made to fit individual foot shapes.

TENTIAL will continue to expand its product lineup to support the conditioning of even more people.

A strap type is newly added to the 'Recovery Sandal Pro' series, which pursues the three elements required of recovery sandals: 'cushioning,' 'fit,' and 'stability.' The unique footbed, analyzed from approximately 400,000 foot scans, and the carefully crafted dual-layer EVA structure achieve both softness upon wearing and stability when walking. In response to customer requests for a better fit, an adjustable strap has been adopted that can be finely adjusted to match instep height and foot shape, also preventing the foot from slipping during walking.
