Jingisukan lunch scene (2019)
Matsuo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Takikawa City, Hokkaido; President and CEO: Yoshihiro Matsuo) will provide "Matsuo Jingisukan Seasoned Special Lamb" as school lunch ingredients to elementary and junior high schools in 5 cities and 5 towns in the Nakasorachi region in fiscal year 2026, as a token of gratitude to the region where the company was founded.
This fiscal year, 990 kg of seasoned special lamb jingisukan will be provided to 4,892 children and students.
Furthermore, this year, as in previous years, an original video introducing "how Jingisukan, Hokkaido's food culture, was born and took root in Takikawa City" will be screened at each school, and employees will participate in "exchange lunches" where they share meals with the children.
By providing opportunities to learn about the region's history and food culture, not just to eat, we will continue this as a food education activity to pass on Hokkaido's food culture to the children who will lead the future.

Gratitude to the land of origin, passed on to the future
Matsuo Jingisukan was born in Takikawa City, Hokkaido, in 1956.
The background to this was the presence of the former Hokkaido Prefectural Takikawa Livestock Experiment Station (Sheep Farm) in Takikawa City, and the region's abundant agricultural products such as apples and onions, which are essential for the secret sauce.
As a company nurtured by the region, we want to pass on that gratitude to the future.
With this sentiment, we began providing ingredients for school lunches in Takikawa City in 2015, and subsequently expanded our efforts to 5 cities and 5 towns in Nakasorachi, continuing the initiative this year.
"Food Education" Beyond Just Eating
On the day of the school lunch, an original video will be screened for children and students to watch while they eat.
The video will clearly explain the background of how Jingisukan culture spread in Hokkaido.
The aim is to deepen their understanding of their hometown's history and food culture through "knowing," not just "eating."

"Exchange Lunches" where Employees and Children Share a Meal Together
On July 17th, an exchange lunch will be held at Takikawa Municipal Nishi Elementary School.
Shohei Kanno, Sales Manager at Matsuo Co., Ltd., will share lunch with the children and discuss Jingisukan, lamb meat, and the region's history.
By having company employees and children share the same lunch and interact, we aim to make local companies more familiar and create opportunities to foster communication through "food."

Comment from Yoshihiro Matsuo, President and CEO
"Matsuo Jingisukan has a 70-year history, supported by many people in the region since its founding.
We aim not only to provide Jingisukan but also to convey the Hokkaido food culture and regional history behind it to the children.
We hope that through school lunches, videos, and exchange lunches, children will learn about the charm of their hometown and foster pride in their region.
As a company that walks with the region, we will continue our social contribution activities through food."
