Kuradashi Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Kohei Kawamura; hereinafter "Kuradashi") announces that it has registered as a "Qualified Institutional Investor" with the Financial Services Agency, with the registration taking effect on May 1, 2026.

■ Background

Kuradashi began considering new entry into the renewable energy business, including grid-scale battery storage, in December 2024 and launched Green Infrastructure Company. In January 2025, the company entered this business by acquiring its first project, the "Tochigi Oyama Storage Battery Power Plant." In August of the same year, it announced a plan to invest in a total of four grid-scale storage battery power plants, aiming for further popularization of renewable energy and reduction of power loss.

In November 2025, Kuradashi reached a basic agreement with Tsuji & Honngo Smart Asset Co., Ltd. to implement a joint venture aimed at promoting and expanding grid-scale storage batteries in Japan. As part of this scheme, the company began exploring the formation of a "Storage Battery Fund" to raise capital from investors and operate storage battery facilities through a Special Purpose Company (SPC) (※1).

Until now, Kuradashi has been considering a system, including collaboration with partner companies, for the formation and operation of funds. This time, the company has completed its own registration as a "Qualified Institutional Investor."

Going forward, Kuradashi will accelerate its investment in the renewable energy business through fund formation and further contribute to optimizing power supply and demand and building sustainable next-generation social infrastructure.

■ What is a "Qualified Institutional Investor" (※2)?

This refers to "persons designated by Cabinet Office Ordinance as having specialized knowledge and experience regarding investment in securities," as stipulated in Article 2, Paragraph 3, Item 1 of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act. Securities companies, investment trust management companies, banks, insurance companies, investment advisory companies, and pension fund management organizations fall under this category.

Qualified Institutional Investors are considered "professional" investors who can make investment decisions based on their own responsibility, relying on their specialized knowledge and experience. As investment experts recognized by law, they are partially exempted from certain conduct regulations under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.

Kuradashi will continue to address social challenges through sustainable business, transforming them into value and creating tangible impacts on society, the environment, and the economy. The company will continue its challenges towards realizing its vision of "Becoming Japan's No. 1 Impact Company Group."
