Overview of 'D&I AWARD 2026'

The D&I AWARD is Japan's largest award that certifies and commends companies working on Diversity & Inclusion.

It evaluates the D&I initiatives of companies operating in Japan (including companies headquartered outside Japan, non-profit organizations, and research institutions) using a unique evaluation metric called the 'Diversity Score,' and grants certifications based on the score.

*What is the Diversity Score?

The Diversity Score is a 100-item evaluation metric developed by JobRainbow to visualize corporate D&I initiatives.

It evaluates based on five elements: 'Gender,' 'LGBTQ+,' 'Disability,' 'Multicultural Coexistence,' and 'Childcare/Nursing Care.' It serves as a standard for creating an organization and society where 'everyone' is included, transcending the boundaries of 'minority' and 'majority.' We strive to evaluate the D&I of a wider variety of companies by partially adjusting the evaluation criteria according to company size.

There are four types of certification based on the score:

Challenger (Certification Score: 1-20 points)
Standard (Certification Score: 21-60 points)
Advance (Certification Score: 61-80 points)
Best Workplace (Certification Score: 81-100 points)

Starting in FY2026, to more positively encourage companies taking their first steps in promoting D&I, the traditional 'Beginner' rank name will be updated to 'Challenger.'

Certifications will be awarded starting from a score of 1, so we look forward to your participation.

Furthermore, from among the certified companies, we will categorize and select them into five divisions based on company size and characteristics, awarding either the D&I AWARD Grand Prize or the D&I AWARD Prize to companies with notable initiatives.

Top Inclusive Company (TIC) Award (Optional Participation)

The Top Inclusive Company (TIC) Award is given to companies that guarantee a high standard of DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) for each and every employee.

JobRainbow's unique 'Inclusion Score' is used as the evaluation metric.
Companies ranking in the top 35% of Inclusion Scores among all applicants will be eligible for the award.

Newly Established for FY2026: 'D&I Score Ranking' (Optional Participation)

Starting in FY2026, we are establishing the 'D&I Score Ranking' as a new evaluation metric for companies aiming for even greater heights.

In addition to the 100-item 'Diversity Score' used for standard certification, 7 'EXTRA QUESTIONS (completely optional)' asking about specific achievements and internal system setups will be added together and evaluated in a ranking format.

As an independent metric that does not affect certification ranks, rankings by company size, industry, etc., will be announced, providing proper differentiation for top-tier companies and a platform for new challenges.

Personal Awards

In FY2026, we will once again present 'Personal Awards' highlighting the 'individuals' who have supported DEIB on the ground.

We accept nominations (both self and peer nominations) for all individuals supporting D&I who cannot be fully recognized by corporate awards alone, including corporate D&I promoters, HR, management, DEIB individuals, allies, and supporters.
