Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Speak! Seminar on Business Reforms Required for Companies Towards Post-SDGs to be Held on May 22

Background of this Seminar

However, according to the latest UN report, only 18% of global progress is assessed as "achieved or on track," indicating an extremely challenging path towards the 2030 target. With only four years remaining until the SDGs deadline, companies are required not only to declare their principles but also to implement concrete actions through their businesses and provide objective proof based on ESG scores that evaluate their efforts.

This seminar, held on May 22, "International Day for Biological Diversity," will provide insights for promoting business reforms from tomorrow, presenting the latest government trends regarding SDGs and concrete corporate solutions, looking ahead to "post-SDGs" beyond 2030.

In the keynote speech, Ms. Nana Fushimi, Assistant Director of the Global Issues Division, International Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be invited to speak on "Initiatives for Achieving SDGs in International Society and Japan," explaining Japan's latest progress towards SDGs and international trends looking ahead to post-SDGs (beyond 2030).

Additionally, Mr. Kosuke Matsui, ESG Strategy Promotion Manager, Corporate Planning Department, will discuss how DX in back-office operations directly leads to decarbonization and the promotion of SDGs, based on the business model of the "BtoB Platform" as an environmental solution that achieves over 600 million sheets of paperless operations and over 5,000 tons of CO2 reduction annually.
