Infomart Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Shin Kimura, hereafter 'the Company'), which streamlines all business operations with the power of digital technology, in collaboration with Academist Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Ryosuke Shibato, hereafter 'Academist'), will launch the online community 'academmune' in April 2026, a place where researchers and companies intersect.

This initiative emphasizes fostering a relationship where both parties say, 'Before we knew it, we were consulting each other,' by providing a place to casually exchange information based on research vision, rather than encounters premised on conventional goals such as 'joint research' or 'investment.' Based on the online community, we aim to create continuous touchpoints through monthly events and a quarterly magazine, fostering a culture where companies are involved in the development of basic research over the long term.

## Background of the Launch of 'academmune'

In recent years, as the importance of open innovation is highlighted, opportunities for companies and researchers to meet are increasing. However, many of them are preceded by specific goals such as 'joint research' or 'investment.'

Because practical discussions proceed before understanding each other's cultures, values, and the underlying Vision of the research, there are many perception gaps such as 'the conversation doesn't click' or 'expectations are misaligned.' To bridge the divide between industry and academia, we need a ground to build relationships with a long-term perspective rather than seeking immediate results.

## What is academmune?

'academmune' is an online community for researchers and companies to collaborate on a daily basis. Operated year-round, it builds the foundation for their relationship. Transcending the boundary between academia and industry, and imbued with the desire for intimate interaction as a single community, it was named 'academmune' by combining 'academy' and 'commune.' Furthermore, as measures to activate 'academmune,' we will deploy two initiatives: 'academmune Meetup' and 'academmune Magazine.'

(1) Monthly Networking Event 'academmune Meetup'
We will hold a space for natural dialogue once a month without presentations or business negotiations. The first one, 'academmune Meetup #1,' will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026.

(2) Quarterly Magazine for Companies 'academmune Magazine'
The Magazine will feature the relationship and collaboration between researchers and companies, and will be used as a starting point for dialogue at the Meetups. The inaugural issue is scheduled to be published in April 2026.

## Kickoff Event 'academmune Meetup #1' Held

In conjunction with the full-scale launch of the project, we will hold a strictly invitation-only kickoff event where researchers and companies interact directly. We will create a space for repeated dialogue while holding the inaugural issue of the quarterly 'academmune Magazine' with a total of 50 people: 25 researchers and 25 companies.
