freee Launches 'freee for Production,' a New Project to Support Sustainable Management for All Production Companies

freee K.K. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Daisuke Sasaki; hereinafter 'freee') has launched a new project, 'freee for Production,' to support the sustainable management of the entire production industry. Following the announcement of 'freee for Medical' in March 2026, this initiative is an effort to deliver industry-specific product value to customers. As the first phase, 'freee Time Management' provided by freee has commenced API integration with 'Flow Production Tracking' (hereinafter 'Flow PT'), a production management tool offered by Autodesk (Headquarters: California, USA; CEO: Andrew Anagnost). ■ Launching 'freee for Production' Specialized for Production Sites like Video Creation Under the 'New Cool Japan Strategy,' the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has set a target of raising overseas sales of Japanese content to a scale of 20 trillion yen by 2033. On the other hand, deep-rooted issues regarding back-office operations and management foundations have existed in production sites for many years. Factors such as on-site progress, operations, and costs are not linked to management information in real-time, causing delays in management decisions. To sincerely address the management challenges of the production industry as an integrated management platform, freee has launched 'freee for Production.' To support sustainable management without stopping the passion for creativity, we will contribute to the sustainable development of the production industry through the development of industry-specific functions and hands-on support. 'freee for Production' targets a wide range of production sites, including anime, CG/video, commercials, broadcasting, and Web. Aiming to build a back-office environment where creators can concentrate on creative work, we will promote DX and AX (AI Transformation). We will realize a smooth business management environment where on-site process and progress information directly connect to budget control and accounting data. ■ 'Flow PT' and 'freee Time Management' Begin API Integration as the First Step of 'freee for Production' In recent years, production sites have faced soaring production and labor costs, as well as severe talent shortages, making it essential to accurately grasp the cost of each project. However, in conventional workplaces, 'double entry'—manually inputting the same content into both production management tools and attendance systems—has become the norm, placing a heavy operational burden on creators. Consequently, labor costs cannot be tracked in real-time, leading to major industry issues where unprofitability is discovered after a project ends, and estimates for new projects must rely on intuition. With this API integration, information from the project management tool 'Flow PT' and the time management tool 'freee Time Management' is linked, simultaneously solving site and management challenges. 'Flow PT' is a cloud-based tool adopted by production studios worldwide that centralizes progress, asset management, and review workflows. Simply by creators updating their daily task status on 'Flow PT,' that action is automatically accumulated as time data in 'freee Time Management.' This frees the workplace from troublesome double entry. At the same time, management can grasp profitability per project or process in real-time. The accumulated data leads to the creation of accurate estimates backed by track records, boosting sound, data-driven management in the production industry. ■ Comments from Industry Personnel Regarding 'freee for Production' At our company, the complexity of income and expenditure management for each project, as well as information entry omissions and errors, had been management challenges. However, by introducing freee products, we have been able to simultaneously achieve real-time performance tracking and automated aggregation.
