freee Accounting Launches Beta Version of 'AI-Powered Automated Statement Import'

freee K.K. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Daisuke Sasaki; hereinafter "freee") has launched the "AI-Powered Automated Statement Import" feature for freee Accounting, which uses AI to create transaction data from files such as PDFs. As the first step, the company released "Mobile Suica PDF Statement Import (Beta)" today, March 26, as a beta version of the feature, allowing for the automatic extraction of transaction data from Mobile Suica usage statement PDFs.

Eliminating Barriers to System Integration and Reducing User Burden As security is strengthened across the financial, e-commerce, and transportation infrastructure industries, login authentication and UI changes have become frequent, making data integration operations increasingly complex for users. For example, Mobile Suica has been transitioning its login authentication system from the traditional method to the "JRE ID" system. When users cannot integrate the services they use for business with freee Accounting, they face the burden of manually entering usage history or creating CSV files, leading to a heavy manual workload in bookkeeping. Consequently, there has been a strong demand from users for more stable data integration. To resolve the operational burden and the risk of input errors caused by manual entry and CSV creation, we have launched the "Mobile Suica PDF Statement Import (Beta)" (*), which automatically extracts data from usage statement PDFs obtained from the Mobile Suica web-based My Page. Using AI-OCR optimized for Mobile Suica PDFs, it is possible to accurately extract the information necessary for journal entries. Moving forward, we plan to expand support to services other than Mobile Suica and to file formats beyond PDFs, enabling convenient and highly accurate data integration across a wider range of services. * Some plan restrictions apply. ■ Rapidly Automate the Import of Mobile Suica Usage Statements into freee Accounting This feature utilizes freee Accounting's AI-OCR and analysis technology. By simply uploading the usage statement PDF issued by Mobile Suica to the web version of freee Accounting, the system instantly and accurately converts "dates, usage details (station names, etc.), and transaction amounts" into statement data. This eliminates the need for manual entry or creating CSV files via spreadsheet software, thereby improving the efficiency of bookkeeping tasks.
