## Comment from Selected Candidate: Yuki Yamada
I worked as an Electrical Engineer in the construction and energy industries for about 30 years, and recently finished a project in the US. While considering the final phase of my career, I had an opportunity to learn about the ITER Organization.
I believe that realizing Fusion power generation is not a 'dream' but an essential element in seriously addressing CO2 emission reduction. I also believe it can significantly alleviate the political pressure and conflicts arising from disputes over control of fossil fuels.
If I can utilize my career at the ITER Organization, I feel it would be a contribution to the future of the planet, giving meaning to all the hardships I have experienced so far.
Certainly, there are anxieties about this significant challenge at over 50 years old. However, now that I know about the ITER Organization's initiatives, the anxiety of not trying would be greater. After all, today is the youngest I will ever be.
I would be honored if this challenge by a mature individual could provide some courage to younger people.
