eiicon, operator of the open innovation platform "AUBA," announced that OtoCheck Inc. has begun a demonstration of its "Ear Health Check AI App" at childcare facilities in Kanagawa Prefecture. This trial is conducted under the support of the "GLiS" (Greater Linear Startup Network) program, hosted by Sagamihara City and Kanagawa Prefecture. eiicon provides comprehensive support, from planning and operation to PR strategy, aiming to build a startup support network rooted in the Sagamihara region. OtoCheck is developing an AI application to detect ear problems in children. Pediatric otitis media is common but often goes undetected because it is frequently painless. The app aims to support parents in deciding whether to seek medical attention by providing AI-based analysis of eardrum images captured via a camera-equipped ear pick. The trial will take place at "Mitsubachi Nursery School ~Sunshine~" in Kawasaki and "Picnic Nursery" in Yokohama for six months starting in late May 2026. The project aims to improve app accuracy and measure the reduction of parental burden. Moving forward, the company plans to refine the service for wider adoption as a healthcare solution for families.
