Asuene Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Kohei Nishiwada; hereinafter 'the Company') will participate in the 'Digital Ecosystem Study Group' of the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA).
The Japanese government has identified 17 strategic fields, including AI/semiconductors and digital/cybersecurity, as priority areas in the Japan Growth Strategy Council. Within the digital/cybersecurity field, the development of data platforms that support the utilization of AI and corporate data is a key theme.
This study group was established as a framework for organizations and companies from both the system provider and user sides to come together to discuss and resolve common challenges for expanding use cases. The Company will contribute to the development of Japan's industrial data infrastructure and the creation of use cases from the implementation perspective of CO2 emissions and sustainability data linkage, leveraging the knowledge cultivated through its CO2 emissions visualization, reduction, and reporting cloud service 'ASUENE'.
Background of Participation
In Japan, the movement to utilize industrial data as a foundation for growth is accelerating. The Japan Growth Strategy Council has highlighted 17 strategic fields, including AI/semiconductors and digital/cybersecurity, as priority areas. Particularly in the digital/cybersecurity field, the development of platforms for the safe and efficient linkage and utilization of corporate data is a crucial theme.
In industrial sectors, including manufacturing, diverse data related to procurement, production, logistics, quality, and environmental impact is accumulated daily. Securely linking this data between companies and organizing it in a form that is easy for AI to process and utilize will lead to advanced supply chain management and enhanced industrial competitiveness. On the other hand, corporate data is often closed data containing non-public information, and formats and management items vary by company. Therefore, data linkage between companies requires the establishment of standardization, interoperability, and secure sharing methods.
In the sustainability domain, the importance of environmental data such as CO2 emissions, primary data, water, and energy is also increasing. Scope 3 responses and sustainability disclosures require not only internal data but also the collection and management of data from business partners and the entire supply chain. The collection of primary data necessary for CO2 emissions calculation and sustainability reporting involves complex tasks from request responses, data verification, aggregation, calculation, to disclosure support. The Company will contribute to this study group from the implementation perspective of CO2 emissions and sustainability data linkage, leveraging its knowledge and extensive support track record in addressing these practical challenges.
Details of Business Collaboration
The Company will participate in the 'Digital Ecosystem Study Group' and engage in discussions on data linkage across the supply chain.
This study group will consider mechanisms for appropriately organizing data held by various industrial sectors and securely sharing it with necessary companies and stakeholders. It also aims to enhance data standardization and interoperability, creating an environment where data can be smoothly linked across multiple companies and systems.
Through 'ASUENE', the Company has supported the collection, management, and utilization of CO2 emissions data from major corporations and globally expanding supply chain companies, as well as primary data and environmental data collected from suppliers. In this study group, the Company will share the challenges of data collection, calculation, and reporting that arise in corporate settings and discuss the ideal state of a data linkage platform that can be used in practice.
The Company will also contribute to building a data infrastructure that organizes this data in a form that is easy for AI to process and utilize, aiming to reduce the operational burden on companies.
Future Outlook
Going forward, the Company will reflect the practical challenges of companies in its products and implement mechanisms for data linkage, calculation, and reporting. By participating in the formation of a cross-industry digital ecosystem, it will support the construction of an environment where sustainability data can be used safely and efficiently between companies.
Furthermore, as a Climate AI company, it will contribute to the development of a data infrastructure that anticipates AI utilization, supporting corporate decarbonization management and the use of environmental data across the entire supply chain.
