[Co-op Mirai] 710 New Recipients Selected for the 2026 Co-op Mirai Scholarship, Supporting a Total of 1,721 Students Across Three Grades

Co-op Mirai (Headquarters: Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Shin Kumazaki) and the Co-op Mirai Social Activities Foundation (Headquarters: Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kiichi Kawada), which promotes the social activities of Co-op Mirai, have officially selected 710 new recipients (422 new students and 288 current students) for the 2026 Co-op Mirai Scholarship.

The Co-op Mirai Foundation's scholarship program is designed for members of Co-op Mirai from single-parent families facing significant economic burdens who are entering high schools or vocational schools, or are advancing to their second or third year. Scholarship recipients receive 120,000 yen annually for up to three years, with no repayment required. Applications for this period were accepted from January 12 to March 31.

The Co-op Mirai Foundation launched this scholarship project in April 2018 for incoming freshmen as part of its commitment to addressing child poverty. This program is based on the spirit of mutual aid among members, primarily funded by the 'Scholarship Supporter Fund,' where Co-op Mirai members who agree with the cause become 'Scholarship Supporters' and donate a fixed amount monthly (starting from 100 yen per unit). The number of registered supporters, who wish to assist families and students struggling with prolonged inflation, has exceeded 30,000 and continues to grow year by year.

The total amount raised for the scholarship in fiscal year 2025 reached 195.62 million yen, combined from the 'Scholarship Supporter Fund' and the 'Scholarship Point Donation' program via Co-op Deli home delivery points. With this new group, the total number of scholarship recipients across three grades has reached 1,721. Co-op Mirai and the Foundation are committed to further expanding these mutual aid activities to support the enriched high school lives of many students.
