ContentAge Inc., which operates IP development, integrated advertising, and talent agency businesses, announced that it will launch a license-out business as a licensor for popular characters developed by Mind Wave Inc. ContentAge will newly develop licensing operations for Mind Wave’s character IPs. In addition to strengthening licensing sales and social media communication through its IP production business, the company will use its advertising business to acquire promotional projects and its talent agency business to support gifting and other initiatives, aiming to bring the appeal of these characters to a wider audience. Mind Wave Inc. plans, manufactures, and sells character stationery and miscellaneous goods. Its lineup includes stationery such as stickers, tapes, and binders, as well as mobile items and character goods. The company is also active in licensing businesses, including LINE stickers and corporate collaborations, and continues to create popular characters such as Gorogoro Nyansuke and Shibanban. The target character IPs include Gorogoro Nyansuke, Shibanban, Piyoko Mame, Ichigo Ichie, Tsunda-chan, Usagi no Moo-chan, Bye Bye Bear, Datto-chan, and Usacolle Friends. Mind Wave President Shunji Miyauchi said the company has pursued character creation that brings smiles to people’s daily lives through stationery and goods under its corporate philosophy, “Make dreams take shape...!” He said he is very pleased to partner with ContentAge, which has multifaceted communication capabilities in social media marketing, promotion, and talent networks, and expects new value and touchpoints to emerge by combining ContentAge’s expertise with Mind Wave’s character worlds. ContentAge CEO Sosuke Noda said the company’s long-standing work in talent management, social media marketing, and advertising agency operations provides networks, expertise, and assets that can be fully utilized in the character IP business. He noted that everything ContentAge has done, from working with talent and brand communication to short animation, content production, and content marketing, can make the company a reliable partner for character-related businesses. ContentAge will support Mind Wave’s philosophy of “Make dreams take shape...!” and work to realize the dreams of creators and fans while creating more opportunities for the characters to be loved. Going forward, ContentAge will value the warmth and humor of Mind Wave’s characters while expanding connections with new fan segments through partnerships with licensees and promotional activities. The company will continue considering diverse initiatives so that more people can enjoy Mind Wave’s world. The project will be handled by Yuko Yamazaki, Senior Producer of ContentAge’s IP Produce Division. She has over 20 years of experience producing popular character IPs in Japan and overseas. Her career includes launching an IP business at TV Tokyo Communications, discovering and managing popular creators at LINE FRIENDS Japan, and leading a license development team at Legs, where she proposed new forms of collaboration between brands and characters. In recent years, as a founding member of Moonplate and Animi, she has promoted IP consulting and artist support for the social media era. She joined ContentAge in 2025 with the belief that creators’ ideas should be nurtured into IPs that connect with society. ContentAge operates three businesses, IP development, talent agency, and integrated advertising, under the purpose of “creating new emotional experiences and a new era of content through resonance between people and AI.” The company was established in August 2015 and is headquartered in Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.
