congatec, a leading vendor of embedded and edge computing building blocks, has expanded its portfolio of Computer-on-Modules (COMs) powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, adding variants that support an extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. With energy-efficient embedded computing performance of up to 180 TOPS, this high-performance module family can now be utilized in particularly demanding environments across AI-leveraging markets such as industrial automation, robotics, medical, and POS.

Industry-Leading COMs Supporting Industrial Temperature Ranges

Provided as application-ready aReady.COMs, these industrial temperature-supporting COMs can be deployed in environments subject to extreme temperature fluctuations, weather impacts, vibrations, or continuous harsh operating conditions. To further enhance robustness, congatec also offers the aReady.YOURS customization service, providing value-added services such as conformal coating, selection of specialized components, and burn-in testing. Similar to conventional models, the ruggedized models achieve up to 10 TOPS with up to 16 CPU cores, while offering up to 50 TOPS via the built-in NPU5 for low-power AI inference. Furthermore, they are equipped with up to 4 Xe3 cores to realize optimized GPGPU AI performance. Developers can leverage this scalable platform for highly robust and energy-efficient high-performance embedded and edge systems, directly implementing combined workloads of local AI processing, sensor fusion, automation functions, and safety-critical operations at the edge.

Therefore, these modules cater to applications specifically designed for highly reliable, rugged, and long-term use. Key applications include mission computers for autonomous and heavy-duty vehicles, as well as outdoor edge systems for smart cities, the energy and renewable energy sectors, trackside infrastructure, and railway applications.
