Commons Asset Management Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tetsuro Ii; hereinafter "Commons AM") is pleased to announce that the 17th recipient of its "Commons SEEDCap (Social Entrepreneur Support Program)" donation program, which has been ongoing since its founding, has been decided as Mr. Torui Hirai of NPO CoCoTELI. A donation of 2 million yen will be made.
Mr. Torui Hirai of NPO CoCoTELI | At the Commons Social Entrepreneur Forum
About Commons AM's Donation Mechanism
At Commons AM, we view long-term investment from both economic and social return perspectives. We believe that society and business are sustainable only when these two aspects work together as a pair. Based on this philosophy, we position not only investment but also donations as core business activities.
"Commons SEEDCap" is a program where we donate an amount equivalent to 1% of the trust fees received by our company from the Commons 30 Fund, which we manage and sell, to entrepreneurs addressing social issues each year. Of the total donation amount, 2 million yen is allocated to the year's supported recipient, and the remainder is donated as "Okage-枠" (Gratitude Slot) (*).
Furthermore, for the three finalists selected, Commons AM employees provide assistance with event planning and public relations activities for one year.
*About the Okage-枠 (Gratitude Slot)
This mechanism donates the remaining balance after excluding the selection slot from the total donation amount for the year, starting from the first recipient of the first SEEDCap program, until the donation amount reaches 2 million yen. After the first recipient reaches 2 million yen, donations are made to the second recipient until they reach 2 million yen, and so on.
For the current period, we donated 100,000 yen to Certified NPO ACE, the first SEEDCap recipient, and 1.73 million yen to Civic Force, the second SEEDCap recipient, as part of the Okage-枠 donations.

Fund beneficiaries (hereinafter referred to as "Companions") also participate in the selection process to decide one recipient from the three finalists nominated each year.
Through this program, Companions learn about social issues, make donations, and participate in events and volunteer activities.
Support Recipient Selection Process
The recipients of Commons SEEDCap are decided through the following process:
1 Commons AM selects three finalists from past speakers at the Commons Social Entrepreneur Forum.
2 Based on the recommendations of Companions regarding the three finalists, Commons AM selects and recommends one person.
3 The SEEDCap Support Recipient Final Selection Committee, composed of internal and external members, makes the final decision on one recipient, considering the number of recommendations and their content.

17th Commons SEEDCap Support Recipient
Profile of Mr. Torui Hirai Director General of NPO CoCoTELI. Born in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture in 2001. Graduated from Kansai University, Faculty of Social Safety Science.
Motivated by his father's depression during his childhood and his own experiences with abuse and emotional neglect, he began supporting children and young people with parents who have mental illnesses. He co-founded CoCoTELI as a student organization, which was incorporated as an NPO in May 2023.
CoCoTELI works to create online safe spaces and provide individual counseling support so that children and young people with parents who have mental illnesses can talk about their worries without feeling isolated or alone.
Furthermore, the organization strives to make this issue, which is difficult to reach with support, visible to society, aiming to realize "a society where both individuals with mental illnesses and their families can live comfortably."
In 2024, he was selected as one of Forbes JAPAN's 30 UNDER 30 2024 "30 Young Innovators Changing the World." In 2025, his activities were recognized with the Kansai University President's Award. In 2026, he was featured in The Asahi Shimbun's "Front Runner," drawing attention as a young social entrepreneur.
Reason for Support Recipient Decision
Mr. Hirai has confronted the issue of children and young people with parents who have mental illnesses – a problem that tends to be confined within the home and is difficult for others to see.
In situations where children become caregivers for their unwell parents and come to believe "this is normal," he expands connections where they can safely voice their concerns through online counseling and the creation of safe spaces.
His focus on "prevention" – delivering necessary support to children and families at an early stage, rather than only intervening when problems become severe – holds significant meaning for the future of society.
Moreover, his perspective rooted in his own lived experience, the innovative drive characteristic of his generation, and his commitment to challenging fields where public support is still insufficient garnered widespread empathy.
It is expected that he will continue to make the existence of children who tend to be isolated within their families visible to society and expand mechanisms for connecting them with necessary support at an early stage. For these reasons, Mr. Hirai of CoCoTELI has been selected as the 17th support recipient, and a donation of 2 million yen will be made. Donations of 50,000 yen each will also be made to the other two finalists, Mr. Tomoya Onaka and Mr. Fujio Kojima.

Testimonials
▸ I have people around me who have mental illnesses. I empathize with Mr. Hirai's vision of "a society where both individuals with mental illnesses and their families can live comfortably" and want to support him.
(Companion's Voice, First-time participant in Commons SEEDCap selection)
▸ I was very empathetic to the fact that he is addressing a social issue that is difficult to receive support for. I learned that there are many children who carry burdens they cannot confide in. It is easy to imagine a situation where children, who often rely on their parents, cannot rely on them, and yet cannot consult with friends either. I recommend Mr. Hirai of CoCoTELI, who is taking approaches to ensure the well-being of individuals with mental illnesses and their families. (Companion's Voice, Third-time or more participant in Commons SEEDCap selection)
▸ I want to support the current stage of his activities, which he started as a student in 2020 and has now been pursuing for six years. Specifically, I want to support him in moving beyond areas that cannot be reached solely online, or when the children he meets are already in distress.
I believe his consideration of preventive support mechanisms, such as for the 10 years before abuse is recognized, is a significant challenge.
(Employee's Voice, Third-time or more participant in Commons SEEDCap selection)
We at Commons AM, together with all our stakeholders, will sincerely address and cooperate in tackling the issues surrounding children through Mr. Hirai's activities.
We will continue to dedicate our efforts to further expand this initiative and turn it into a movement that involves society as a whole.
We will support the activities not only of Mr. Hirai but also of the other two finalists through collaborative projects and information dissemination for one year.
The award ceremony for Mr. Hirai is scheduled to be held at the 18th Commons Social Entrepreneur Forum on October 10, 2026 (Sat) in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo.
