Kumamon Square opened in July 2013 on the 1st floor of the Tetoria Kumamoto Building in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, serving as a hub for promoting Kumamoto's local products and tourism. With its regular stage shows and exclusive merchandise, it has become one of Kumamoto's leading tourist attractions, drawing visitors from Asia—including Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Korea, and Thailand—and all over the world.

On Friday, June 5, 2026, twelve years and eleven months after its opening, the facility reached the 4.5 million visitor mark. To celebrate, a special event was held at the venue. At 2:00 PM, Kumamon made a grand entrance in a white tuxedo, holding a plaque to mark the achievement before a packed audience.

During the ceremony, Mr. Yamada, Section Manager of the Kumamon Section of the Kumamoto Prefectural Government, presented a commemorative gift to the 4.5 millionth visitor. Kumamon shared a joyful message: 'I'm so happy! I'll continue to be a "good kid" (pun on 450/yoi-ko in Japanese) so many more people will come visit!☆'

To conclude the event, Kumamon performed the 'World Super Special MIX' version of the dance track 'Come on! Kumamon!' for the first time. This special version incorporates six languages—Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, French, and Thai—responding to global fan requests to hear the song in their local languages. The original language versions are currently available on music streaming and download services worldwide.

Kumamon Square will celebrate its 13th anniversary in July 2026. As the 'sacred site' of Kumamon, it remains committed to spreading happiness and surprises to fans across the globe.
