Royal Mint's New Release! Commemorative Coin for the 100th Anniversary of the British Grand Prix

The British Grand Prix is one of the most prestigious events in motorsports. First held in 1926, this year marks its 100th anniversary.

When the "Formula 1 World Championship" in its current format was established in 1950, the historic first race was held at the British Grand Prix. Alongside the Italian Grand Prix, it is one of the most historic and traditional races in F1, having been held annually without interruption since 1950.

The race has produced some of the most exciting moments in British motorsport history, from Nigel Mansell's dramatic victory in 1987 to Lewis Hamilton's "three-wheel finish" in 2020.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the British Grand Prix, The Royal Mint has issued this new commemorative coin.

The reverse side of the coin, designed collaboratively by Interstate Creative Partners and The Royal Mint, features a racing car from the 1926 Brooklands race and a 2026 F1 car, both engraved alongside the year.

The obverse bears the portrait of King Charles III, designed by Martin Jennings.
