Cognity Inc. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Rie Kono; hereinafter "Cognity"), which visualizes organizational issues from conversational and textual information using knowledge representation AI, will begin releasing a 5-part series of analytical content focusing on a series of statements made by President Trump, from the start of the Iran attack to the declaration of its end.

In this project, we will not only focus on a few strong words repeatedly quoted in the news, but also provide an overview and explanation at a structural level of what was truly conveyed throughout the entire speech. By examining not just isolated impressive passages, but also the order of topics, the placement of arguments, the depth of explanations, and the repeatedly emphasized points, we aim to interpret the communicated content with less bias. This initiative is based on Cognity's purpose: "A society free from cognitive bias through the power of technology." Because people are easily swayed by limited information and striking fragments, it is necessary to re-examine the entire statement as a structure. Cognity has also clarified the necessity of eliminating preconceptions and visualizing structure in its existing releases.

Background: A Single Strong Word Does Not Reveal the Full Picture of a Statement

In highly tense situations like international politics, statements by political leaders are instantly reported, and short phrases are repeatedly disseminated. However, an actual speech is not composed of just a single word. The recipient's understanding changes significantly depending on what premises are set, which points are presented first, where justification is made, and where emotions are appealed to. Nevertheless, in many cases, discussions tend to be based on impressions such as "it was radical," "it was hardline," or "it was provocative." This prevents the structure of the statement itself from being seen. To reduce the bias inherent in how such information is received, Cognity is releasing this analysis as a series project to quantitatively decipher the overall structure of statements.

Cognity's technology is not designed to generate large volumes of text like generative AI, but rather is a "knowledge representation AI" specialized in extracting contextual structures and quantifying relationships between topics. In existing releases, it is positioned as a technology on a different layer from LLMs.
