CoA Nexus (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; President: Kota Nozaki; hereinafter 'CoA Nexus') operates 'CoA Atlas,' a next-generation AI matching platform specializing in R&D. We are pleased to announce the publication of our 'Survey on the Future of R&D and Career Development, March 2026.' This survey was conducted online between February 21 and 28, 2026, targeting 586 R&D professionals (researchers and engineers) nationwide. It provides a multi-faceted visualization of the current state of R&D talent, including career intentions, compensation, generative AI usage, and notable research themes. Three key findings: 1. 'If the salary is the same, I choose by research theme'—R&D career values differ fundamentally from general roles. When receiving equal offers, 'attractiveness of work content/research theme' was the top deciding factor (25.4%), doubling the second factor, 'working hours/ease of work' (12.9%). 2. Over 70% of R&D talent have integrated generative AI into their work—it is no longer a 'trial' but a 'daily tool.' 72.3% use it, with 41.2% using it daily for tasks from literature review to data analysis. 3. 'Satisfied with work style, but dissatisfied with the research environment'—a 17-point gap. While 69.1% are satisfied with their work style, only 52.0% are satisfied with their research environment, with 68.1% feeling a lack of equipment. About CoA Nexus: We aim to bridge companies and academia, uncovering latent talent through AI-driven approaches to support the 'Research Revolution.'
