Jeffrey Koo Jr. Attends BFA Executive Committee Meeting, Calls for Collective Improvement of Asian Baseball

Central News Agency, Taipei, May 26. The Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) held its first-half executive committee meeting in Manila, Philippines, yesterday. BFA President Jeffrey Koo Jr. stated that he would assist the Philippines in cultivating grassroots baseball talent, promote coaching technical cooperation and international exchanges, and work together to improve the strength of Asian baseball. The BFA issued a press release today stating that the executive committee meeting was held in the Philippines yesterday, and they inspected the 'Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium,' the venue for the first Asian Baseball Championship. John Patrick C. Gregorio, Chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission, noted at the dinner that the Philippines' breakthroughs in international sports rely on the long-term support of Asian countries. Whether it is the birth of an Olympic gold medal or the progress of Philippine baseball, it is the result of cooperation and mutual support in Asia. Koo emphasized that baseball development is not just about competition, but also about historical inheritance and international cooperation. This visit aims to rebuild the cooperative relationship between Asian baseball and the Philippines. Koo pointed out that he has observed the Philippines accumulating energy again. In addition to the historic Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium in Manila, the modern baseball training base in Clark has become an important stronghold for the national team and youth baseball development. The BFA will continue to act as a bridge and backing for Asian baseball. Looking back at BFA history, it was founded in 1954 by Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines. The Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium was built in 1934 and is one of the most historic stadiums in the Philippines, witnessing the early stages of Asian baseball.
