Li De-wei Releases Message from Ma Yi-nan, Urges King Pu-tsung to Stop Harming Ma Ying-jeou

Li De-wei, spokesperson for the foundation's investigation team, released a text message today sent by Ma Yi-nan, the elder sister of former President Ma Ying-jeou, to former National Security Council Secretary-General King Pu-tsung. The message stated that if King does not stop harming Ma Ying-jeou, they will immediately apply to the court for a 'guardianship declaration' (auxiliary declaration) for Ma Ying-jeou and expose King's manipulation and exploitation of the former president. As of press time, King has not responded. Ma Ying-jeou authorized CEO Dai Hsia-ling and King Pu-tsung to hold a press conference on the 25th, presenting evidence and photos alleging that former staff members Hsiao Hsu-tsung and Wang Kuang-tzu violated financial discipline. However, Li De-wei argued that what was shown at the press conference had no relation to financial discipline violations. In a radio interview this morning, Li stated that the investigation team had not seen anything beyond the photos of Hsiao with a Taiwanese businessman holding cash, and while shocked, it did not exceed the scope of their investigation. Li said that because King held a press conference, he had no choice but to release the message from the family. The message read: 'Pu-tsung, from the perspective of a family protecting a younger brother, if you do not stop harming Ying-jeou, we will immediately prepare to apply to the court for an auxiliary declaration for Ma Ying-jeou and expose your manipulation and exploitation of the former president.' Li emphasized that Ma Ying-jeou is an iconic figure for the KMT, and handling this matter properly is the goal of the investigation team.
