Ministry of Education Holds Choral Teacher Training Workshops, Recruiting 200 Teachers

Central News Agency reporter Xu Zhiwei (Taipei, 25th) To deepen the content of arts education, the Ministry of Education is holding "Choral Seed Teacher Workshops" from May to June, planning four sessions in the north, central, south, and east, recruiting 50 teachers per session to join as seed teachers to strengthen choral teaching knowledge and arts education practice. The Ministry of Education stated in a press release today that to improve the quality of choral teaching on campus, it has asked the Experimental Choir to organize seed teacher workshops (basic level), which will be held on May 30 at Houpu Elementary School in Banqiao District, New Taipei City; June 6 at Beitun Elementary School in Beitun District, Taichung City; June 7 at Jiabei Elementary School in East District, Chiayi City; and June 13 at the Yilan County Teacher Training Center, recruiting 50 people per session. The Ministry of Education stated that singing is the most direct form of music, not constrained by instruments. Through choral learning of different languages and musical styles, students can more deeply understand the connotation and value of various ethnic cultures, thereby cultivating the literacy of respecting multiculturalism and an international perspective. This year's basic workshops focus on basic choral training, voice usage, and precise pronunciation techniques, as well as improving group leading and rehearsal capabilities, inviting many experts and scholars deeply involved in choral and vocal education to teach. In addition, Wang Yi-ning, conductor of the Taipei Sanyu Elementary School Choir, who has repeatedly won special awards in national student music competitions, was invited to share first-line teaching and team management experience. The Ministry of Education mentioned that it invites teachers full of enthusiasm for choral education and music teaching to participate. To deepen the capabilities of choral seed teachers, an advanced workshop is also planned in Taipei in August.
