Russia Warns Foreigners to Leave Kyiv, Threatens to Bomb Decision-Making Centers

Russia issued a warning today to foreigners and diplomatic personnel, urging them to leave Kyiv and stating that it plans to launch further attacks on the Ukrainian capital, including targeting its 'decision-making centers.' AFP reports that the Russian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement: 'Attacks will target decision-making centers and command posts... We warn foreign citizens, including personnel of diplomatic missions and international organizations, to leave the city as soon as possible.' According to Reuters, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that these attacks are a response to what Moscow claims was a deliberate Ukrainian drone strike on a student dormitory in the Russian-controlled Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian military denied the Russian allegations, stating that they had struck an elite drone command unit in the area. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated: 'In this situation, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are launching a series of systematic attacks on Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises in Kyiv.' In Kyiv, rescue workers continued to deal with the aftermath of yesterday's airstrikes. Authorities said the attacks have left 2 people dead and 91 injured.
