Penghu Defense Command Soldiers Visit Military History Sites and Clean Beaches to Protect Their Home

The Army Penghu Defense Command combined a military history tour with environmental protection activities today, as over 100 soldiers visited the Xiyu Ammunition Depot Military Culture Park to learn about Penghu's war history and military culture, and conducted a beach cleanup in the surrounding area to protect the local environment. Penghu Defense Command Commander Chen Jun-yuan personally led over 100 soldiers in the event. Guided by professional staff, the soldiers toured the ammunition bunkers that witnessed Penghu's war history, observing the unique construction techniques and weathered tunnel walls. They gained a deep appreciation for the hardships and wisdom involved in defending the maritime borders and solidified their cohesion through the inheritance of historical memory. After Commander Chen led the soldiers to witness the bunkers, the entire group headed to the nearby beach for a volunteer cleanup. Under the scorching sun, they cleared various types of marine debris, restoring the beach to its clean state. This demonstrated the military's responsibility to protect their home and care for society, contributing to the ecological conservation of the 'Chrysanthemum Island.'
