PLG Pilots' Alec Brown Named Defensive Player of the Year

Central News Agency, Taipei, May 22. The P. LEAGUE+ (PLG) announced its annual defensive player and defensive first team awards today. Alec Brown, an import player for the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots, was overwhelmingly elected as the Defensive Player of the Year. The Pilots also dominated the defensive first team, with four players selected, making them the biggest winners. According to the voting results, Brown received 107 points to rank first, followed by teammate Li Chia-kang with 44 points, and Tainan TSG GhostHawks' De'Mon Brooks with 22 points. Brown, the league's block leader this season, averaged 1.9 blocks per game, along with 8 rebounds and 1.3 steals, ranking in the top four in the league for these categories. He also recorded a single-game high of 6 steals, demonstrating his all-around defensive prowess. The defensive first team includes Brown, Lu Chun-hsiang, Li Chia-kang, and Kuan Ta-yu from the Pilots, alongside Fubon Braves' Mo Bamba, forming a formidable defensive unit. Notably, Mo Bamba showed significant improvement, increasing his blocks from 0.6 last season to 1.3 this season, ranking second in the league.
