Foxconn and Acer join Young Designers' Exhibition; MOEA 'Enterprise Day' to bridge talent and industry

The 45th Young Designers' Exhibition opened today. Vice Minister of Economic Affairs Ho Chin-tsang announced that the MOEA will host an 'Enterprise Day' on the 25th, attracting about 100 benchmark companies, including Foxconn and Acer. The initiative aims to facilitate direct interaction between companies and students, helping students secure employment or start businesses upon graduation, while injecting new innovative momentum into the industry.

The 45th Young Designers' Exhibition is being held from the 22nd to the 25th at Hall 2 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. The theme, 'Changing Boundaries,' responds to contemporary cross-disciplinary trends and explores diverse innovative possibilities.

Ho stated at the opening ceremony that the exhibition, now in its 45th year, is a significant annual event co-organized by the MOEA and the Ministry of Education, showcasing the results of Taiwan's design prowess. This year, 3,500 works from 55 schools across Taiwan are on display, with record-breaking international participation from 10 countries, including the US, Japan, and Thailand, and 22 international design schools.

Ho pointed out that in the face of rapid global industrial transformation, talent remains the core force driving national and industrial progress. The exhibition's greatest value lies in successfully bridging the gap between academia and industry, allowing academic innovation to meet industrial needs. He hopes that international lectures and exchange activities during the exhibition will broaden the global vision of Taiwanese design talent.

Ho also mentioned the MOEA's 'Industry Proposes, Students Solve' collaboration mechanism. This year, 600 design teams participated, with 38 teams from 18 schools selected. After six months of co-creation, seven teams won Gold Awards, demonstrating both creativity and potential for industrial value.

Ho emphasized that design is not just a tool for industrial application but also a vital method for solving social problems and promoting sustainable development. This year's exhibition collaborates with units such as the Executive Yuan's Anti-Fraud Center, New Taipei City Government, Ministry of Environment, Ocean Affairs Council, and Yamaha Motor Taiwan to propose innovative designs for public issues.
