Anti-Scam Games and Friendly Cleaning Carts: Young Designers' Exhibition Showcases Innovation

The 45th Young Designers' Exhibition opened today, featuring a themed area showcasing the results of industry-academia collaboration and demonstrating the practical capabilities of emerging designers. Highlights include friendly cleaning carts designed for middle-aged and elderly cleaners and anti-scam board games created in response to rampant fraud. The exhibition is guided by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Education, hosted by the Industrial Development Administration, and executed by the Taiwan Design Research Institute. This year's theme is 'Shifting Boundaries,' responding to contemporary social trends through design. Nearly 3,500 works from 110 departments across 55 domestic schools are on display. The results of the '2025-2026 12th Young Designers' Industry-Academia Collaboration' project are also featured. Eight companies and organizations, including Gamania, Yamaha Motor R&D Taiwan, Bosch Taiwan, Shepherd Group, the Executive Yuan, New Taipei City Design Center, B'in Live, and the Child Welfare League Foundation, provided topics, and 38 teams were selected from 583 student groups for a six-month collaboration. The Taiwan Design Research Institute stated that through cross-disciplinary topics such as public education, spatial mobility, entertainment health, and healthy spaces, the collaboration guided students to explore, design, and verify their work, strengthening industrial application. For example, the team from Tunghai University responded to the topic set by Yamaha Motor R&D Taiwan by creating the 'ORIN' cleaning cart, designed for elderly cleaners. In the field of public education, the team from Ming Chi University of Technology designed the 'Fox Says' board game to help users understand scam tactics. The 45th Young Designers' Exhibition runs until the 25th at Hall 2 of the Nangang Exhibition Center.
