Taiwan Stocks Rise 899.76 Points

The Taipei stock market opened higher today and continued to climb, closing up 899.76 points at 42,267.97 points, a gain of 2.18%. The trading volume reached 1.188432 trillion NTD. The weighted index opened at 41,447.92 points, with a daily high of 42,357.60 points and a low of 41,447.92 points. The index excluding financial stocks was 38,396.32 points, up 880.09 points. Performance of the eight major sectors: cement and ceramics stocks rose 2.37%, food stocks fell 1.38%, plastics stocks rose 0.41%, textile stocks fell 0.11%, machinery and electrical stocks rose 2.56%, paper stocks fell 0.37%, construction stocks fell 0.62%, and financial stocks fell 0.11%. The number of buy orders was 25,874,713, sell orders were 17,815,875, and the number of shares traded was 14,371,391. At the close, 631 stocks rose, 379 fell, and 92 remained unchanged. The top five stocks by trading volume were MasterLink 50, AUO, Innolux, MasterLink Taiwan Growth, and PSMC. The top five gainers were ASE Technology, TXC, Epistar, Les Enphants, and Harvatek. The top five losers were SunWay, Longhwa, WinWay, Fubon Apple Inverse N, and Guangli-KY.
