(CNA, Taipei, May 21, by reporter Chen Jung-chen) Taiwanese professional basketball P.LEAGUE+ star for the Taipei Fubon Braves, Lin Chih-Chieh, will retire after the current season. Facing his final playoff series, head coach Hsu Chin-Che expressed his hope that Lin can perform at his best without any injury concerns to end his playing career in style. Known as "The Beast" and a perpetual fan favorite, Lin Chih-Chieh had his playing time reduced by coach Hsu's deliberate arrangement after two recent retirement games. This was to prevent injuries and allow him to compete in the playoffs at full strength, aiming for a perfect end to his professional career. During a media interview today, Hsu Chin-Che stated that since this is Lin's last career playoff, he certainly does not want to see any injuries. He emphasized that the team's victory will be the top priority in the playoffs, and he will not specifically control Lin's playing time. If Lin's condition is good and he feels he can play more, he will be given more minutes on the court. Notably, Lin suffered a left wrist fracture on May 21 last year, which not only prevented him from helping the Braves win the championship but also indirectly affected his professional career. Now, exactly one year later, Lin has overcome the injury to return to the court and is actively preparing for the playoffs. Hsu expressed that Lin deserves respect, as recovering from such an injury is not easy. Hsu pointed out that Lin started rehabilitation three months after his surgery and has worked his way back to his current form, including delivering a perfect performance during his retirement games at the Taipei Arena. Therefore, Hsu hopes Lin will have a magnificent end to this season, adding, "He definitely wants to retire beautifully as well." (Editor: Chen Ching-fang)
