The couple showed no signs of life at the scene. The Taitung County Fire Department stated that they received a report at 7 PM tonight about a motorcycle with two riders crashing into a parked car at the 416-kilometer mark of Provincial Highway 9 (Datorn section of the South-Link Highway), resulting in two individuals (1 male, 1 female) with Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA). The woman was sent to the Dawu Emergency Station, and the man to Taitung MacKay Memorial Hospital. Both the Dawu Emergency Station and Taitung MacKay Memorial Hospital confirmed that the patients died after arrival. The Dawu Precinct of the Taitung County Police Bureau stated that the cause of the accident and liability are under investigation.
