Nearly 300 Russian Firms at China-Russia Expo; Russia Advocates for Mutual Technology Transfer

(CNA, Taipei, 19th) Ahead of Russian President Putin's visit to China, the 10th China-Russia Expo was held in Harbin from the 17th to the 21st, with nearly 300 Russian companies participating. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev stated that Russia and China should continue to mutually transfer technology to create opportunities for the development of both countries. Chinese media outlet China Youth Net recently reported this, citing Russian media. China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced earlier that at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to China from the 19th to the 20th. According to the report, this year's expo attracted over 1,500 Chinese and foreign companies from 46 countries and regions, including nearly 300 Russian companies. The scale of the Chinese procurement delegation is estimated to exceed 5,000 people. The report pointed out that this expo features 8 major exhibition areas, including China-Russia cooperation, and will see the launch of over 500 new products, first-of-their-kind sets, and new models, as well as showcasing over 800 new projects, new collaborations, and new technologies. According to the report, since its first edition in 2014, the China-Russia Expo has attracted a total of over 7,200 Chinese and Russian enterprises and 1.05 million business visitors. During the expo, Trutnev stated that this is an important event, with booths from various Russian regions and companies displaying not only agricultural products but also equipment, helicopters, and technological achievements. He said that both sides should continue the mutual transfer of technology, as technology can create development opportunities for both countries in the modern world.
