Central News Agency (CNA, Penghu County, 18th) — Wu Shu-chin, the wife of Penghu County Magistrate Chen Kuang-fu, stated today via Facebook that her husband will begin a five-month course of intensive treatment this week, hoping for a breakthrough in his brain recovery. She expressed her wish that the treatment proceeds smoothly and helps her husband recover as soon as possible.

Wu Shu-chin pointed out that Chen Kuang-fu was originally scheduled to begin nerve repair therapy in early April, but the treatment was postponed due to recurrent fever. At that time, Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital managed his condition under full isolation, and his physical state is now under control. After careful observation last week, the hospital will start the nerve repair therapy today.

Chen Kuang-fu was injured in an accidental fall during an event on the first day of the Lunar New Year (February 17) and was hospitalized in a coma. Wu Shu-chin mentioned that it has been three months since the incident, and the family's emotions have fluctuated with Chen's condition. In March, he was able to open his eyes and move them in response to surrounding sounds. From an initial slow response, he can now not only move his eyes but also turn his head.
