ETF 00403A Breaks Issue Price a Week After Listing; 00405A Begins Fundraising Today

This morning, 00403A's price fell to a low of NT$9.71, breaking its issue price of NT$10 per share, marking a nearly 3% drop in one week.

With the Taiwan stock market frequently hitting new highs this year, many investors have opted for active ETFs, entrusting their capital to professional managers to participate in the market. New active ETFs are continuously being launched, and Fubon Asset Management's first active Taiwanese stock ETF, the 'Fubon Taiwan Dragon Shine Active ETF Fund' (00405A), began its subscription period today.

The 'Uni-President Taiwan Growth' (00981A) has seen rapid asset growth this year along with the surging stock market, solidifying its position as the leading active Taiwanese stock ETF and becoming a phenomenal topic of discussion. Also issued by Uni-President, 00403A, a sibling fund to 00981A, generated buzz right from its launch.

00403A was listed on May 12 and saw a massive trading volume of over 4 million shares on its first day, pushing its price up and creating a premium of over 5% to its net asset value at one point. Uni-President Investment Trust issued a rare 'Important Notice' that day, warning that the premium on 00403A was excessive.

As the premium on 00403A gradually narrowed, its stock price closed exactly at its NT$10 issue price last Friday. However, with recent inflation concerns causing market jitters again, U.S. stocks pulled back last Friday, and the Taiwanese market followed suit today. 00403A's price 'broke the issue price,' falling to a low of NT$9.71 during trading.

Investment trust professionals analyze that the short-term volatility and increased fluctuations after hitting new highs do not change the long-term growth trend, driven by sustained demand in AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and semiconductor industries.
