Chunghwa Telecom Launches Mobile Business Certificate, Breaking Traditional IC Card Limitations

In coordination with the policy of the Commerce Development Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs to promote the digitalization and mobilization of business certificate services, Chunghwa Telecom completed the construction of the "Mobile Business Certificate System" today and launched the service. Chunghwa Telecom stated that in the future, enterprises will only need to use a mobile device to complete various business verification tasks anytime, anywhere, realizing intelligent and low-carbon operations, breaking through the physical limitations of traditional IC cards, and opening a new chapter for "Mobile Business Certificates." Su Chen-chien, General Manager of Chunghwa Telecom's Taipei Operations Office, said that since 2001, it has been cooperating with the Ministry of Economic Affairs to build the Business Certificate Management Center, and began issuing certificates on August 7, 2003, with a cumulative total of over 2.3 million certificates issued to date. With the popularization of mobile devices, through the personalization and intelligence of devices, the business certificate has developed more diverse services and innovative applications, helping enterprises move towards next-generation digital transformation. Chunghwa Telecom explained that the Mobile Business Certificate supports both iOS and Android platforms, its digital signature format complies with the Electronic Signatures Act, and it provides 5 major flexible integration mechanisms. In addition to the "active scan mode" for logging in by scanning a QR Code and the "push mode" for real-time signing, it also integrates App-to-App, Web-to-App, and web redirection interaction modes, which can instantly complete identity verification and digital signatures. In the future, it will be the identity card of enterprises in the online world and will be integrated into various mobile application scenarios. Su Chen-chien said that the newly launched Mobile Business Certificate has not only passed the Mobile Application Security (MAS) certification but also integrates native fingerprint and facial biometric recognition technologies of mobile devices to ensure the uniqueness and non-repudiation of each signature. In addition, the system has a built-in intelligent validity management mechanism that actively reminds for renewal 60 days before expiration, helping enterprises keep track of their certificate status at all times, ensuring that various business applications and signing operations are not interrupted, and enhancing digital transformation competitiveness.
