In a press release, Liu stated that medical treatment areas are highly private spaces. If businesses install recording equipment without prior explicit notification and consent from the individuals involved, it could infringe on consumer privacy rights. In addition to potentially violating the confidentiality obligations of the Medical Care Act, it could also involve criminal charges such as obstruction of privacy and sexual privacy. Liu pointed out that La Glow Aesthetic Clinic's Hsinchu branch has issued a statement claiming there are no hidden or pinhole cameras in the clinic. The Saint Style Clinic's Hsinchu branch stated that while they used to obtain patient consent for recording procedures, they have now completely ceased such practices.
