(CNA, Taipei, May 18, by reporter Yu Kai-hsiang) Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND) today released the latest movements of Chinese military aircraft and ships. According to statistics from 6 a.m. yesterday to 6 a.m. today, the military detected 5 Chinese naval vessels and 7 military aircraft that crossed the median line of the strait, intruding into the northern and southwestern air defense identification zones. The military is closely monitoring and responding with its mission aircraft, naval vessels, and shore-based missile systems.

The MND announced the Chinese military activity this morning. From 6 a.m. yesterday to 6 a.m. today, it detected 5 Chinese naval vessels, 1 government vessel, and 7 military aircraft that crossed the Taiwan Strait median line into the northern and southwestern airspace, continuing their activities around the Taiwan Strait.
