The Tainan City Government held a promotional and pre-order event for mangoes at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi's Taichung Chung-kang store today, with Mayor Huang Wei-cher acting as a salesman. The city government stated that this year's mango production is expected to increase compared to last year, and they will strengthen quality control and graded packaging for marketing. Mayor Huang noted that Tainan is known as the 'hometown of mangoes,' accounting for about 50% of Taiwan's total production and planting area, with quality setting the benchmark for the premium market. The premium Aiwen mangoes promoted are grown using greenhouse-friendly methods, reducing pesticide use and ensuring top quality. A highlight of the promotion is the new Taiwan-exclusive brand 'Champagne Mango,' launched by the Yujing Lian-Xing Fruit and Vegetable Production Cooperative. In continued collaboration with Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, these premium mangoes are available for nationwide home delivery pre-order and offer a 'Taiwan order, Japan pickup' service, allowing friends and relatives in Japan to enjoy the fresh taste of Tainan.
