Nantou Puli Earthquake Prompts Time Extension for Junior High Exam at 4 Test Centers

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake occurred in Puli, Nantou County at 8:46 AM today during the national junior high school comprehensive assessment exam. The national test administration committee reported that four test centers were affected. To ensure safety, proctors instructed students to take cover, briefly interrupting the exam. Consequently, the test duration was extended by 1 to 3 minutes based on the judgment of on-site staff at the affected venues, which included Wufeng Agricultural & Industrial Vocational High School, Hsi-Yuan High School, Hsinchu Senior High School, and Wu-Ling Senior High School. The committee confirmed no equipment was damaged.
