Lithuania Launches "Pink Soup Train" to Warm Up for Vilnius's Annual Festival

(CNA, Vilnius, 17th) To build excitement for its annual Vilnius "Pink Soup Festival," Lithuania has launched a limited-time "Pink Soup Train," transforming a train carriage into an immersive pink space inspired by the classic local pink cold soup, attracting travelers to join the festivities by rail. According to a press release from Go Vilnius, the city's official tourism promotion agency, the Pink Soup Train began operating on the 15th and will run until August 30th on the route between Mockava and Vilnius. It is part of the cross-border rail network from Warsaw, Poland, to Vilnius, Lithuania, making it convenient for travelers from various locations. The train's interior is dominated by a vibrant pink theme, with a consistent design from the ceiling and walls to the tables. The floor is printed with images of the ingredients for Šaltibarščiai (pink soup), creating a strong visual impact. Features like selfie mirrors are also installed to emphasize the social media sharing experience. The "Pink Soup Festival" is an annual event in Lithuania, now in its 4th year, with the celebration extended from two to three days, taking place from the 29th to the 31st. The launch of the pink train serves as a warm-up for the upcoming festival. During the event, the entire city of Vilnius will be themed in pink, including street art installations, themed food and drinks, and encouragement for the public to wear pink attire. Activities planned include a 50-meter pink slide, a costume contest, a soup-carrying race, and a "Pink Moment" where the whole city enjoys pink soup simultaneously. Egle Girdzijauskaite, Head of PR at Go Vilnius, stated that the design aims to make the journey itself a part of the city visit experience. "It's not just about arriving in Vilnius, but how travelers get here. With the Pink Soup Train, we are turning a simple train journey into an unforgettable, playful, and highly authentic local experience."
