Hsinchu County Promotes Guanwu Route Indigenous Experience, Inviting Public to Feel Atayal Culture in the Mountains

(CNA, Hsinchu County, May 17) The Hsinchu County Government held an indigenous cultural experience event for the Guanwu route in Wufeng Township today, inviting the public to take the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle bus deep into mountain villages. Through Atayal facial painting, weaving crafts, and challenge games, participants can experience the local natural and cultural heritage. Hsinchu County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke stated in a press release today that the Guanwu route connects beautiful mountain scenery with indigenous culture. Through the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle's transfer service, the public does not need to drive into the mountains themselves, allowing tourists to gain a deep understanding of indigenous culture. Tsai Yi-ling, Director of the Hsinchu County Government's Department of Communication and Marketing, pointed out that the event features professional instructors leading the public in facial painting and weaving crafts. Additionally, a tribal warrior card challenge is planned, combining a 60-second card-matching game with indigenous totem designs, allowing participants to learn about cultural elements through a fun game. According to the press release, participants said that this trip not only allowed them to personally experience facial painting and weaving but also to gain a deep understanding of Atayal history through explanations, making it a cultural journey with educational significance.
