Fertilizer Company Expands with New Plant in Pingtung; Agricultural Biotechnology Park Phase II Reaches 38% Occupancy

Funo Fertilizer Biotechnology Co. has begun construction on a new plant in the Pingtung Agricultural Biotechnology Park to expand its production line. Pingtung County Magistrate Chou Chun-mi and park director Chuang Lao-ta attended the groundbreaking ceremony. Chuang stated that the park's Phase I is at 97% occupancy, while Phase II is at 38%, with about 60 hectares still available. Funo is investing NT$170 million in the new facility to meet the growing demand for organic fertilizers, prompted by the Agriculture and Food Agency's promotion policies. The new plant is expected to begin trial operations by the end of the year at the earliest.
